Since the January transfer window opened and then closed, I thought I would put three names up for the Biggest waste of cash ever award. These players transferred to their new clubs under a massive high of anticipation, but has flopped the most and will soon be heading out of their new club for a fraction of the fee they were bought for?
Fernando Torres. Liverpool to Chelsea. £50 Million
5 games, no goals and not even close to one. No partnership of any kind with Drogba or Anelka. Slows the whole Chelsea team down. Will never discover his purple goal scoring patch he had in his early Liverpool days and is another Shevchenko
Edin Dzeko. Wolfsburg to Man City. £27 Million
Big lump of a bloke, his second touch is a miss timed tackle. Can't pass, can't dribble, can't shoot. No composure on or off the ball. Falls over a lot and is completely useless at everything except that he can head a ball sometimes. Looks totally out of his depth. 8 League games and NO goals
Andy Carroll. Newcastle to Liverpool. £35 Million
Big lump of a bloke, his second touch is a miss timed tackle. Can't pass, can't dribble, can't shoot. No composure on or off the ball. Falls over a lot and is completely useless at everything except that he can head a ball sometimes. Looks totally out of his depth. (Yes I copied and pasted that from above) May come good but at £35 million you want it now. There are however signs of some kind of partnership with that cheating bloke from Uruguay.
................................................
So who is the biggest waste of space, who is heading straight back out the exit door in the summer? Who looks more like a Sunday league player?
It was a hard one second and third place, but the winner of the "Biggest Waste Of Cash Ever" Award goes to.....
1) Edin Dzeko. This guy is beyond hopeless, £27 mill for a clown who can't kick, pass, shoot, or even bloody stand up!!! Mancini will be reluctant to admit he's been had, but will off load him for about £10 mill.
2) Fernando Torres. Will not get his form anyway near where £50 mill says it should be. The Prem is getting too tough for the poor bloke and will be off back to Spain by the end of next season for around the £15 mill mark.
3) Andy Carroll, only came in 3rd as the other two have been so bad. I don't think he is worth anyway near £35 mill. Although Liverpool did very well to get £50 mill for Torres, they wasted it by spending such a large amount on this bloke. Signs he could be OK in the future but for the price tag, he should be good NOW.
So well done Manchester City for in buying Edna sorry Edin Dzeko for £27 Million you have been well and truly done mate.
